We first lower our carbon footprint by choosing heritage breed Jersey cows, which have a 20% lower carbon footprint than the Holstein cow, the mostly widely used breed by dairy cow (1).
We continue this commitment to save our planets resources by sourcing 100% of our milk within a 90-mile radius, utilizing energy recovery systems at our whey plant, which cuts the energy required to dry the protein by nearly one-half, and annually updating the facility’s water recirculation and electrical systems.
While most whey is heat processed, which depletes, damages, and often destroys its micronutrients and amino acids, our organic liquid whey is cold processed, and ultra-filtered for only a short duration at low-temperature to preserve the nutrients in their natural state. (You should know that there is no such thing as raw whey in the U.S; don’t be fooled by others claims.)
Our high-quality processing is also free of acid and bleach. Most proteins skimp here and utilize acid/ion exchange processing which is cheaper, but denatures the amino acid profiles by using acids and chemicals to separate the whey from the fat. We assure heavy metal safety by having IN.POWER protein third party tested for 9 metals including arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury.
